For those of you who like to get merry in the mountains, whether it be dancing, a few glasses of that favourite tipple or the two combined, here are some spots you should check out in Switzerland.
Casbah – Verbier

Undoubtedly one of the greatest night clubs in the mountains, the Casbah welcomes a completely mixed crowd from resort workers and ski bums through to high rollers and bankers. The club has a distinct Moroccan theme as well as a couple of no-nonsense doormen – so be on your best behaviour when entering and exiting. For those of you who like to rock out you’ll be able to mosh to your heart’s content in the small rock bar. Head to the bar and get your free vodka mixer on paid entry.

Le Pub Mont Fort – Verbier
Verbier’s favourite across the generations – head here early and grab the ultimate bar burger. If you like chicken as much as we do check out the legendary ‘Flo’s Burger’ and for you Veggies there is some stuff on the menu too (although I’m not sure what because I always have the Flo’s). This place really kicks off around 11.30 most nights (especially Tuesday nights as it’s resort workers day off on Wednesday.) Check out the shot bar and ask the bar man to make you an off menu shaker, or if you’re really daring check out the ‘Flaming Lamborghini.’

Popcorn – Saas-fee
Underneath the cool and trendy Hotel Dom lies the Popcorn bar, famous throughout Switzerland with the young freeski and snowboard crowd. Popcorn even holds it’s own ski & board competitions and goes to huge events like freestyle.ch!
There isn’t much more to say other than if you want to meet friendly people and have the best party – this is the place to do it. Outstanding DJ’s!

Living Room – Saas-fee

The living room bar could be classed as Popcorns elegant older sibling. It’s also in the Unique Hotel Dom and serves up fantastic cocktails, champagnes and wines with some pretty neat bar skills. The bar guy here taught me how to shake up a Vodka Martini a couple of years back. Head here for an pre or post dinner drink and chat.

Papperla Pub – Zermatt

The place to grab a beer and a snack after a long day on the slopes, the Papperla Pub is one of the seasonaires favourite off-snow play grounds. They have a great range of to be honest quite calorific snacks but just remember that the day on the slopes is tough work – and you’re on holiday so you deserve it. Downstairs is the legendary Schneewittchen nighclub (a.k.a. the “Schnee”) and if you find youself there at 4 a.m. kicking-out time you know you’ve had a good night.

Hennu Stall – Zermatt
Kicking apres-ski bar right on the main resort run back into town, popular with locals and holidaymakers alike and rammed from 4pm onwards every day in the season. Live bands and occasional evening parties which are always quite an experience.

Hotel Post – Zermatt
Hotel Post has a range of bars from day time, post skiing through to early hour jaunts. There’s something about this place, a certain warm feeling in the main bar that overlooks the street and a spark in the club downstairs. There is also a rather swish bar upstairs, so it’s got a little bit of everything for everyone.
