A look inside: Maison Blanche et Verte

Located just ninety minutes away from Geneva airport, Châtel forms part of the Portes du Soleil with over six hundred and fifty kilometres of interlinked skiing. Sharing slopes with the likes of Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Gets along with Swiss resorts like Champery and Morgins isn’t exactly a bad thing. The resort is a traditional farming village and there’s none of this purpose built malarky around – Châtel is a true alpine paradise. Maison Blanche et Verte is one of a very select few chalets that we’d recommend to practically anyone from families through to corporates. This cutting-edge designer chalet is packed full of facilities so you can rest assured that all the boxes in your holiday wish-list will be checked (from the indoor / outdoor heated swimming pool to a well-stocked deliciously tempting wine cellar.)

First point is that the chalet layout has been well thought out: living areas and bedrooms are in separate wings which makes a huge difference (there’s always one who stays up late or gets up early). As you can see from the images the main living space is perfectly crafted open plan sanctuary with contemporary feature fireplace, a large dining table and a terrace. There’s a mezzanine sitting area too which makes an ideal stomping ground for the children. For those who want to watch movies the cinema is fabulous with ten full-sized seats worthy of classic motion pictures (the way Hollywood used to make them) and there are popcorn holders too.

There are six luxurious and spacious en-suite bedrooms each with soft White Company linens and plasma televisions (with digital satellite channels.)

In the chalet operators own words ‘…you make the rules’ when it comes to service. There is a private chef, a host and two assistants. The chef produces ‘…va va voom food’ to quote a previous client and is more than happy to adjust meals to your tastes and requirements. A continental and cooked breakfast is served each day along with afternoon tea and then in the evening you’ll get to indulge in Champagne and canapés.

Gourmet dinners are served on six nights out of every seven night stay and accompanied by very carefully selected wines (there’s also an open spirit bar for a cheeky tipple of choice before bed.) On the chefs night off we suggest you check out one of Châtels many great eateries which your in-resort private chauffeur will take you to.

There are also return private transfers from Geneva airport included in the price which starts from £625 per person per week based on twelve sharing (peak weeks are close to £3,000 per person.) You can view more details and images of the chalet here on our Maison Blanche et Verte page.
