Austria’s luxury ski properties are mostly located in St Anton with a handful in Lech, Zurs and Obergurgl and we also have access to private off-market chalets in Kitzbuhel. The most popular resort is undoubtedly St Anton with a range of properties from the exclusive Chalet Artemis and Almajur through to the contemporary yet Tyrolean styled Chalet Alexandra which is a slope-side apartment for six guests. Obergurgl has one owner operated boutique chalet called The Chalet, at 11º East which is ideal for families and in Zurs there’s the super-luxury Bentley’s House.
Lech has the most luxurious properties in Austria with Chalet 1597 and the ski-in/ski-out Chalet Uberhaus. The services in these properties are second to none and will impress the most discerning guests.
One of our favourite properties is the unique Villa Gella situated in the quiet mountain village of ‘Gela’ in Bulgaria’s Rhodope Mountains. It’s the perfect place to explore both the slopes of Pamporovo (fifteen kilometres away) and local culture and cuisine. Definitely a great option for those who are looking for something different and exceptionally good value for the quality of accommodation and service.
Italy is still very new to the luxury ski chalet scene however there are a couple of noteworthy options. In the small hamlet of Pattemouche near to Sestriere there’s Baita 1697, a design-led property that’s been featured in the likes of Conde Nast Traveller for its interiors that have been carefully formed by owner designer Lucie McCullough.
There’s also San Lorenzo Mountain Lodge – a unique property in the South Tyrol that is operated by passionate owners, Stefano and Giorgia.
In France we cover twelve resorts including the top names such as Courchevel, Val d’Isere, Meribel, Megeve & Chamonix. The range of properties available to rent in France is vast with a complete range of services, prices and designs.
Courchevel 1850 has the highest proportion of ultimate luxury chalets compared to any other resort in the world with the likes of Chalet Owens, Pearl, Shemshak Lodge, La Bergerie and Le Petit Palais to name a few. The resort is popular throughout the season and has risen to prominence due to its links with the 3 Valleys lift network and of course the plethora of shops, bars and restaurants that attract an international client base. Megeve also has a large number of high specification properties and the resort maintains much of its medieval charm with its undulating cobbled streets.
The more humble Les Gets, Chatel and St Martin de Belleville also have great boutique properties and access to first rate ski terrain. The up and coming resort of France Morzine is the up and coming resort of France in terms of luxury chalet offerings with Chalet M and Twenty26 offering exceptional levels of services at very reasonable rates.
The alpine adventurer’s dreamland of Chamonix also houses many luxury offerings spread out throughout the valley. Val d’Isere has countless options that are all of a very high standard with notable properties such as Chalet Marco Polo, Black Pearl and Rive Gauche. Neighbouring Tignes (which shares the Espace Killy ski area) is on the up too with Chalet Quezac, owned by extreme freeskier Gurleain Chicherit, and Chalet Opale and Ambre.
Refined Switzerland also has a wide range of resorts and properties across the cultural differences of the various Cantons and regions (including a language change or two along the way). The most popular resorts in Switzerland are definitely Verbier & Zermatt.
Zermatt is known for getting booked up very far in advance, the resort is snow sure and therefore it’s very popular at Christmas and New Year. Again there are numerous luxury offerings such as Chalet Zermatt Peak, Chalet Les Anges and the Backstage Chalet. The resort also has a number of high quality self-catering apartments.
We have an office in Verbier and know the resort inside out. There are more luxury chalets available to rent in Verbier than in any other resort from Richard Branson’s Lodge through to super-contemporary apartments like Sayeu 117 and No. 5 Penthouse. The resorts near to Verbier that make up Les 4 Vallees such as La Tzoumaz and Nendaz are great options for families and represent comparatively excellent value given that they access the same extensive ski terrain.
Another of the popular resorts for luxury properties is Gstaad – there are a handful of exclusive rentals available and they all have first rate services.
When people think of North American skiing one of the first resorts to come to mind has to be Aspen. The resort that has it all with one of the best lift networks in the world through to countless shopping areas, restaurants and activities. In Canada there’s Bighorn which is situated in the big mountain resort of Revelstoke. This property has a helipad in the garden and provides access to some of the most exhilarating ski slopes on the planet.
We also have access to off-market private residences in an exclusive development in Whistler that can be discussed by request.
A handful of the top properties are not shown online therefore if you are looking for a unique high specification chalet please do get in touch with us as we may have a private owner who we can contact.
