Chalet Himalaya is a former monastery dating back to the seventeenth century. It’s a really unique property with a slope-side location in Val d’Isere’s exclusive hameau of La Daille.

The photos really do the talking with this property. There’s a long list of original features including the massive fireplace and stone window seats. The property isn’t all history though, it’s the combination of this monastical features and modern state-of-the-art designs that makes this place so fascinating.

The living spaces are full of ornate chandeliers, mirrors and other art pieces. There’s a cosy sitting room with cinema screen and more formal areas with a grand dining table too. Himalaya has an impressively stocked wine cellar with rare vintages ideal for a special occasion.

You might not immediately realise that the property has a swimming pool but it does. The pool can pop up between the dining area and cigar room and is half inside half outside (the picture showcases it very well.)

There are four incredible bedroom suites that each have both sleeping and relaxation areas. The bath rooms have marble walls and underfloor heating. There are also rain showers that convert into steam rooms in every bathroom. The bedrooms can all be set up as both twins or super-kings.

There’s also a ski & boot room for storage.
