Hakuba was the main venue for the Nagano Winter Olympics back in 1998. Since then the resort has become renowned as a Japanese skiing mecca steeped in culture and adventure.
Deep in the Japanese Alps, Hakuba is part of the Sun Alpina and was a key resort in the Nagano 1998 Winter Olympics. Culture, tradition and oodles and snow (average of fourteen metres per season) are the norm at Hakuba resort. There are a few really cool chalets in Hakuba and we’ve picked One Hakuba and One Wadano as our favourites, nestling between the secret birch trees that are found across the Japanese Alps. There are also a number of Onsen-style hot spring baths around the place and these always go down a treat.
