Full Description

Nira Alpina is a glass-and-timber-built mountain sanctuary located around five kilometres from St. Moritz in Silvaplana. The hotel has slope-side ski-in/ski-out access with a glass enclosed bridge connecting the building directly to the Corvatsch cable car.

The hotel has seventy bedrooms including ten suites – they all have views and are deeply soothing spaces. All of the bedrooms have either garden access with a patio area or a balcony and they all have views.

Nira Alpina stands out in the area as being the cool hotel option with its chic rooftop lounge and modernist atmosphere. The furnishings are contemporary but with Swiss alpine touches thrown into the mix for good measure (sheep-skin throws, cow-hide sofas – that sort of thing.) This is definitely a skiers hotel, but that’s not to say that those who don’t want to take to the slopes can’t be kept entertained too.

The ‘Nira Spa’ could form the basis for a getaway in itself although it’s perfect for après-ski treatments. The spa is unashamedly well appointed with five large treatment rooms where we recommend you try the signature ‘Nira Alpine Journey’ therapy or if you’ve had a tough day on the slopes perhaps the ‘Alpine Stretch.’ The spa also has a relaxation room with mood lighting and a vast whirlpool with an underwater relaxation bed. There’s both a sauna and a steam room and two cold waterfall showers. Finally there’s a gym with a good range of cardio equipment, weights and Pilates accessories. All in all the spa will leave you feeling completely rejuvenated.

Foodies won’t be left wanting either with three in-house restaurants serving up everything from international fusions through to easygoing mountain meals. You’ll also definitely make a visit to the Nira Bakery where the fresh breads and pastries are exceptionally good – just don’t have too many before dinner.
