It’s no surprise that Chalet Black Pearl is built and designed to such a high-specification as the designer, Philippe Capezzone, is the co-owner and architect of the stunning Hotel Kilimandjaro and Hotel Le K2 in Courchevel 1850. At Black Pearl Philippe has set himself demanding criteria in order to create one of the most luxurious properties in the area.
Chalet Black Pearl is about a ten minute walk away from the centre of Val d’Isère with a location between the village and the Funival funicular in La Daille. There’s a chauffeured four wheel drive vehicle that can get you to the shops, bars, restaurants and lifts in about a minute.
The property itself is the perfect marriage between the contemporary and traditional. The use of local stone and classical woodwork panelling keeps the chalet sympathetic to the Savoyard history whilst the furnishings and technology provide a state-of-the-art finish.
The sitting area has humongous armchairs, soft comfortable sofas and a large stone fireplace. Of course the latest technology is present with a flat screen LED television, BOSE sound system, wireless internet, DVD & an iPod dock. The sitting area leads out onto a sun-trap terrace through picture frame windows. The dining area is also open plan with a large solid wood table.
Chalet Black Pearl has five spacious en-suite bedrooms that are all stocked with bathrobes, slippers and towels along with Azzarro bath & beauty products. As with the rest of the property the bedrooms have been styled to the last meticulous details with carefully selected artwork and decadent linens. The bathrooms are unbelievably elegant with the finest marble and stones.
The best feature of this place has to be the spa with its indoor swimming pool with jet stream taking centre stage – this is chalet opulence on the grandest of scales. The spa also has a hammam and relaxation area with shining extra large cushions for stretching out next to the pool.
There is also garage parking and an in-house ski & boot fitting service.
