Situated between Lake Geneva and Mont-Blanc, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Les Gets combines traditional alpine charm with access to 650km of superb skiing.
Previously a twelfth century dairy farming village, Les Gets has retained much of its Savoyard soul. Traditional stone-and-wood chalets, panoramic views and tree lined slopes provide a charming backdrop to the diverse skiing on offer, and with one of the shortest transfer times from Geneva, there is all the more time to enjoy it.
Although a relatively low lying resort (1172m), Les Gets still has a surprisingly good snowfall record, and for those wanting to explore further afield, a full Portes du Soleil lift pass can be purchased giving access to 650km of pistes, including neighbouring resort Avoriaz (1800m).
Les Gets has earned a reputation for being extremely popular with families due to excellent ski schools and gentle local slopes, ideal for those wanting to master their technique. With access to 120km of pistes as part of the local area pass, there is more than enough terrain to keep both beginner and intermediate skiers amused. However, there is plenty to challenge the more advanced skier too, including the infamous Swiss Wall, one of the toughest mogul fields in Europe and steep enough to quicken the pulse of even the most expert skier.
