Recently converted from a working sheep farm into the ultimate retreat, Deplar Farm is set in a remote valley in Trollaskagi, a peninsula North West of Akureyri known for its breathtaking rolling descents and steep couloirs leading all the way to the ocean.
Surrounded by 3,000 ft peaks and some of the world’s newest and best heli-skiing terrain, the property is a two hour chauffeured drive from Akureyri or a short helicopter transfer can deliver guests straight to the door. Covering 28,000 square ft, the property combines world-class food and lodging with guided activities for guests of all ages.
From the outside Deplar Farm could easily pass for a traditional farmhouse yet inside the lodge is spacious, minimalist and modern with floor-to-ceiling-windows flooding the living space with natural light and affording spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.
A staggering 13 en-suite bedrooms, each with a TV and mini-bar, accommodate up to 28 guests in total. The master bedroom, located on the second floor has lofted ceilings, a king-size bed and a steam shower. There are a further four king-size suites, four king-size suites with queen sleeping lofts and balconies, a king-size suite with twin-bedded sleeping loft, two ground floor suites opening onto outdoor patios and a bunk room.
The main highlight of Deplar Farm is its superb spa, complete with two flotation tanks and three treatment rooms. There is also an indoor-outdoor salt water pool with bar, a sauna and a steam room. Guests can exercise in the gym and yoga room or relax in the media room or on the soft seating on the outdoor deck whilst admiring the magnificent views.
