Voted the best ski chalet in France at The World Ski Awards on three occasions and nominated to take the title again in 2019, Chalet Marco Polo is a truly exceptional property. Situated in the heart of the resort, yet discreetly set back from the main road, it offers both privacy as well as easy access to all that Val d’Isère has to offer.
With over 1,000m² of opulent living space set over four floors, Chalet Marco Polo sleeps up to 10 adults and four children in six luxurious ensuite bedrooms.
Combining traditional chalet elements of wooden floors, panelled walls and exposed aged wood beams with sumptuous fabrics, crystal chandeliers and gilt-edged furnishings creates an interior that is decadent, enchanting and oozes glamour.
Taking up the top floor, the open plan living space has high vaulted ceilings and huge windows flooding the room with natural light. A stone fireplace is at the centre of the room and creates both a focal point and a natural divide between the lounge with drop-down cinema screen, dining area, kitchen and bar. Doors open onto a large balcony with an outdoor kitchen, heated seating and uninterrupted views of the infamous La Face piste.
Situated on the first floor are six stunning ensuite bedrooms which have been beautifully and individually decorated and furnished using rich textures and bold design. The master bedroom has a superking double bed, sitting area and an almost magical bathroom with a bathtub carved from stone as well as a double rain shower. There are three double/twin bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a double room with an ensuite shower room and a mezzanine with an additional single bed. The children’s room has four single bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom. Five of the six bedrooms have access onto a private terrace.
The lower floors are dedicated to leisure and indulgent relaxation. Taking centre stage of the ground floor spa is the gold leaf embellished swimming pool designed by Christian Lacroix. Both the pool and adjacent Jacuzzi use ozone technology and are completely chlorine-free. There is also a beautifully tiled and mood-lit hammam, two massage rooms, a beauty room and two automatic hydro jet massage beds. A fairytale entertainment area, furnished in white and silver, has deep, faux-fur sofas set around an ethanol fireplace, a bar and a dance area with smoke machine, laser lights and a sound system. Descending into the basement, there is a fabulous cheese and wine tasting cellar, a games room with a pool table and dart board and a fitness room equipped with the latest Technogym. An exciting addition is the new interactive racing car game for up to eight players – think Scaletrix for adults – and a biathlon laser shooting game.
The ski and boot room now resides inside an authentic tèlécabine which is positioned just off the entrance hall.
Chalet Marco Polo is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art home technology and really is a quite remarkable property.
