Apartment Alex is a 480m² duplex apartment in the Winkelmatten area of Zermatt. It is located on the upper floors of Chalet Shalimar but can be rented on its own for occupancy by up to twelve people. The Shalimar building is at the southern edge of the resort so the views of the Matterhorn and high mountains around Zermatt from here are spectacular and mostly uninterrupted.

The entry to the apartment on the first floor of the building takes you into the level where the bedrooms are located. All six bedrooms can be set up as doubles or twins and each has a private ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Stairs lead up from the sleeping level to the living and dining areas on the top floor. Double height ceilings and large sliding doors opening to the balconies at the front of the building make this a really bright and airy space. There is a sitting area with L-shaped sofas and an open fireplace, a large dining table next to the open plan kitchen and a separate TV lounge/library.

Apartment Alex is equipped with a multi-room audio system and there are wall-mounted flat screen TVs in every bedroom.

The wellness facility on the lower ground floor of the building has a swimming pool, sauna, hammam and treatment room. There is a ski room and large lockers on the ground floor.

It is possible to ski to back to the chalet via the Moosweg piste and you can ski down to the Matterhorn Express lift over the meadows in front of the building. Winkelmatten is a 15 minute walk from the centre of the village which can also be easily reached by a local bus service or electro-taxi.
